We hike in various outdoor environments. Love the wilderness, but there are many national, state and county parks where hiking is superb. Additionally, botanical gardens serve as excellent spots for photography and tranquil repose as well as great hiking. We include images here from one of our favorites, Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge. True to its name, (descanso means rest in Spanish) it is truly a serene, lovely space in time. As Descanso Gardens specializes in camellias and lilacs, we include a slide show of our macro images. The park also displays a gorgeous array of tulips in spring so we offer a slide show from our recent visit. Lastly, cherry blossoms, magnolias, wisteria and other special flora abound in these gardens as we also show in photos below.
